This policy explains what Cost to Run currently does with personal data and cookies. It is written for the site as it exists now: a UK appliance running cost website with calculators, comparisons, and editorial guides.

Cost to Run is an independent website. If you need to contact us about privacy or the site generally, email contact@costtorun.co.uk.
What information the site currently uses
The calculators work from appliance data and electricity-rate settings. The values you type into the calculators are used to show results in your browser. They are not currently used to create a personal account or saved profile.
Cookies
The site uses Google Analytics to understand visits and page usage. It also uses a small preference cookie or local storage entry to remember that you have dismissed the notice banner.
We do not currently use advertising cookies. If additional tracking or advertising tools are added later, this policy will be updated to reflect that.
Email and correspondence
If you contact us by email, we will use your message and email address to reply and deal with the issue you raised. We do not use that correspondence for unrelated marketing.
Third parties and hosting
Like most websites, Cost to Run relies on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers to deliver the site. Those providers may process routine technical data such as server requests, security logs, and performance information so the website can load and remain secure.
